About these terms
These terms apply when you use Counter Character at counter-character.com: the character counter, the guides and every other page. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site. They should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
About the tool
The site offers a free, browser-based character counter and supporting guides. It is free, and there is nothing to sign up for. The tool is offered as is, as a convenience for general information.
Rules for using the site
You are welcome to use the character counter freely, but you must not:
- reproduce substantial parts of the site, its guides or its code as your own work.
- use the site for anything unlawful, fraudulent or harmful;
- use bots or scripts to copy the site in a way that harms its performance for others;
- test, probe or attack the site's security, or interfere with how it runs;
Results are estimates
The character counter produces estimates based on the values you enter and on simplifying assumptions explained on the site. Circumstances vary, and both input mistakes and errors in the tool can occur.
Check any important figure independently before acting on it, particularly when money, health or safety is involved. Nothing on the site is engineering, medical, legal, financial or other professional advice; for that, consult a qualified professional.
No warranties
As far as the law allows, Counter Character is offered “as is” and “as available”, with no warranty of any kind, whether express or implied. That covers, for example, any warranty of accuracy, of fitness for a particular purpose and of non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the site will always be available, error-free or secure.
Limits on liability
As far as the law permits, the operator of counter-character.com accepts no liability for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data, profits or business, resulting from the use of the site or of its results. Where the law does not allow an exclusion, our liability is limited to the extent it does allow. Nothing here limits liability where the law does not permit such a limit.

If part of these terms is invalid
